Chargeback
A forced reversal of a card payment, initiated by the cardholder's issuer to dispute a transaction.
Last updated:
A chargeback reverses a completed card payment when a cardholder disputes it — for fraud, non-delivery, or billing errors. The issuer pulls the funds back from the merchant.
Chargeback availability depends on the card program and network rules. Prepaid crypto cards follow the dispute processes of the Visa or Mastercard network they run on.
