CVV / CVC
The 3-digit security code on a card used to verify the cardholder during online payments.
Last updated:
The CVV (Card Verification Value), also called CVC, is the short code that helps prove you physically hold a card during online checkout. On virtual cards it is part of the digital card details.
Because a virtual card's CVV can be regenerated by reissuing the card, leaked details are easy to invalidate compared with a printed plastic card.
