Top Up Your Crypto Card with USDT on Solana
USDT on Solana is Tether's SPL token. To top up a Kripicard with it, send USDT to the Solana deposit address in your dashboard on the Solana network, from Phantom, Solflare or an exchange that supports Solana withdrawals. Network fees are usually a fraction of a cent, which makes Solana the cheapest network for small and frequent top-ups. If you keep moving $20 or $50 at a time onto cards, this is the network where the funding fee stays almost the only cost.
Why Solana suits small, frequent top-ups
Network fees on every chain are flat per transfer. On Ethereum that flat amount can be several dollars, on Solana it is typically far below a cent. For someone who tops up a subscription card with $15 each month, or funds ad cards in small daily increments, the difference adds up over a year.
Run the same top-up through the top-up calculator on all three networks. On amounts under about $100, Solana usually comes out cheapest.
Token accounts, explained in one paragraph
On Solana, a wallet does not hold tokens directly. Each token lives in an associated token account that belongs to the wallet. When you send USDT to an address that has no USDT token account yet, your wallet creates one and pays a small one-time deposit in SOL to do so. Phantom, Solflare and exchanges handle this automatically. It is the reason a first Solana transfer can cost slightly more than later ones.
Sending from Phantom, Solflare or an exchange
- 1. Copy the Solana deposit address from the dashboard. Solana addresses are base58 strings of 32 to 44 characters, with no 0x and no leading T.
- 2. In the wallet, select USDT and check that it is Tether's token. Wallets mark verified tokens, and unverified look-alikes appear in many wallets uninvited.
- 3. On an exchange, pick Solana or SOL as the network for the USDT withdrawal.
- 4. Keep a little SOL in a self-custody wallet for fees and possible token-account creation.
- 5. Confirm. Solana finalizes quickly, and the balance appears in the dashboard once the deposit is detected.
Solana-specific risks to watch
- Spam tokens and NFTs are dropped into wallets with links to "claim" sites that drain them. Never sign a transaction from a site you did not go to deliberately.
- USDC vs USDT. Both are common on Solana and sit next to each other in wallets. Send the asset the deposit address is for.
- Fake support. Anyone who DMs you offering to help with a stuck Solana deposit is not Kripicard. Use verified contacts only.
