Pacific Time (PT) is the westernmost time zone of the contiguous United States, covering California, Washington, Nevada, most of Oregon and parts of Idaho — plus British Columbia in Canada and Baja California in Mexico. It alternates between Pacific Standard Time (PST, UTC−8) in winter and Pacific Daylight Time (PDT, UTC−7) from mid-March to early November.

PT punches far above its geographic weight because of what runs on it: Silicon Valley, the major ad platforms, app stores and a large share of the world's SaaS infrastructure.
